Why Bare

Four reasons clients stay

Most organisations have an agency story that ended badly. These four hold whether you’re buying a website, an ongoing content program or advice on a rollout.

01 / Senior-led

The same person runs strategy, scope and delivery.

No account manager handing the work down to a junior. Rachel is on every Bare project, every week. The person who scopes the work delivers it.

1 senior lead on every project, no exceptions.

02 / One discipline

Websites, search and change communications are the same job.

A buyer comparing four firms, a search engine deciding what to cite, your own staff facing a new system. All three are persuasion, and that’s the trade.

Eleven years of it, external audiences and internal ones.

03 / Yours to run

Everything we build, your team can use without us.

Websites with admin guidance. Content frameworks your team extends. Strategy documents written to be owned after we leave.

Documentation and handover on every engagement, not on request.

04 / Built on evidence

Every claim we make for you traces to a real project.

Named clients, real outcomes, verifiable detail. On the website, in the content, in the strategy work.

Named clients and real numbers, or we don’t publish it.

The elephant in the room

AI is eating cheap web work. Good.

You’ve probably wondered if you can just spin a website up yourself with ChatGPT, or with a template that costs A$40. We see the same thinking in every market we work in. Three arguments we hear, and what each one actually costs.

1. "I can use AI to build the website myself."

You can. So can every business pitching against you. The output is competent and indistinguishable, which is the worst possible outcome for a buyer trying to choose between you. AI removes the floor of bad. It does not raise the ceiling of good. The businesses that win the next decade will be the ones whose proof, positioning and judgment can’t be copied.

2. "It works, so it's fine."

It loads. It looks reasonable. Underneath, there’s no SSL hardening, no firewall, no brute-force protection, no update policy. The person who built it doesn’t know what a vulnerability scan is because they never needed to. Vibe-coded sites are built from the screen backwards. Nobody checks how the database is exposed or whether the setup has known exploits. When it gets compromised, the remediation and reputation damage can be costly.

3. "We'll sort the SEO later."

There is no later. Search engines index your site structure, page speed, schema, heading hierarchy and crawl behaviour from the day it goes live. A vibe-coded site has none of this considered. The headings are decorative, the URLs are auto-generated, the images are uncompressed, there’s no sitemap, no structured data. It looks like a website. Google sees a blank page with pictures.

4. "We got it built cheap and fast."

Then the developer moves on, or the person who prompted the AI leaves, and nobody knows how the site was built, where it’s hosted, what the login credentials are or how to change a heading. Two years later, you’re paying for a full rebuild of a site that was only built eighteen months ago. The cheapest website is the one you can actually maintain and scale.

FAQ

Common questions

What does Bare Digital do?

We’re a digital consultancy based in Perth. We build websites and run ongoing SEO and AI-search programs. We also advise on technology change: digital and AI strategy, implementation, then getting people to actually use it. Our clients are organisations whose work is technical and whose buyers evaluate carefully: engineering, construction, facilities, advisory and government. Everything we produce makes complex work clear to the people who need to understand it, inside the organisation and outside it.

Websites, SEO and AI search, plus digital consulting. Brand work, templates and collateral are delivered alongside a build where the project needs them, and we still run search and social advertising for existing clients. Most clients start with a website build and move into an ongoing program.

Yes. SEO gets you ranking in Google, and the same work helps your content surface and get cited when buyers research in AI tools like ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity, which a growing number of buyers now use to shortlist. We build for both in every Grow retainer.

We work with organisations whose work is technical and whose buyers check them before they call: engineering and technical consultancies, contractors and builders, facilities and asset managers, plus specialist advisory firms and government teams. If your digital presence isn’t doing justice to your capability, we’re a good fit.

Most clients begin with a conversation. It’s a chance for us to understand what you need, point you in the right direction, and work out whether we’re the right fit to work together. If we are, we’ll take it from there. No obligation, no hard sell.
